Dell Servers
We only use Dell Poweredge class servers because
of their state-of-the-art technology and proven
track record. All of our servers currently run
on dual Intel 2.8 GHz Xeon processors with 4096
MB
of memory.
Intel Xeon Processors
All of our servers have Intel Xeon processors
providing the processing power and versatility
required
for high end servers. The combination of the Intel
netburst microarchitecture and hyper-threading
technology provides outstanding performance and
headroom for peak workloads, resulting in faster
response times.
Red Hat Linux Enterprise
We exclusively use Redhat Enterprise Linux operating
system on our servers. Linux is one of the most
popular server operating systems in the industry
today due to it’s scalability and track
record as the
most stable operating system on the market. It
is constantly under active development which insures
a reliable, secure, and robust platform for web
hosting environments.
Cisco Switches
We use Cisco switches that support advanced features
such as IP Routing, QoS, Granular Rate
Limiting, Security Access Control Lists (ACLs)
and Multicast Management to insure network operations.

Protocol

Juniper Routers
We use Juniper routers that forward packets at
a throughput of 20Gbps. Juniper delivers networking

top 25 service providers and 8 of the top 15 Fortune
500 companies.
Redundant Network
All of our servers are housed in ThePlanet’s
datacenter located in Dallas, Texas with multiple
connections to the internet on 10 different tier
one backbone providers with 1Gbps or greater
uplinks. Should any connection fail the other
connections automatically takes over. Our backbone
providers include UUNet, Sprint, Level 3, Global
Crossing, Verio, AT&T, Time Warner, Allegiance
Telecom, Broadwing, and Abovenet.
